WPPI Recap

I think its safe to say that I will be processing this past week for the next year until I get to go back and do it all over again! Last week I was able to join about 16,000 other international photographers in Las Vegas for the annual WPPI Conference for the third year. Each year has been totally different, and I think what I enjoyed the most about this year was seeing familiar faces again, and all the new photographers specifically from Virginia I was able to connect with! This can be an incredibly lonely industry since you don’t have co-workers really, so its always great to meet other people who understand the ins and outs of this job.

Before I left I blogged about 10 goals I had for the week, and I’m happy to say that I (almost) made all of them happen! The only one I didn’t quite manage was the 7 hours of sleep a night, but I knew that was a stretch to begin with ;0) I did however manage to fit in a couple naps into my schedule throughout the week to make up for it! I wasn’t able to say hi to Bobbi+Mike after their presentation, so instead I ended up being that annoying girl who came up to her as she’s about to sit down to dinner with her friends!! i never wanted to be that girl (sorry Bobbi!) but i just had to tell her how much i adore her.. and it was one of my goals so i had to check it off, right?? yikes, next time i promise to not be such a creeper!

Aside from that I’m so thankful for the people i met, the speakers that blessed me, and my wonderful friends Jill, Katelyn, and Michael for making my birthday so much fun! No one would tell me where we were going, but Michael had made reservations at Trevi at Caesar’s Palace so we just got to walk around, look at some (reeeeally) expensive stores, eat seriously yummy food, and watch the fountain show at the Bellagio on our way back. I just found out that WPPI next year falls over my birthday too, so maybe we’ll have to go back for round 2 next year! :0) Jill and Katelyn took a few pictures and video clips throughout the evening, but somehow they ended up on my camera so i guess i’ll share them, even though i didn’t take them! :0) here are some of my favorites:

after dinner our waiter brought out this yummy sundae complete with your favorite three flavors of ice cream and four spoons.. perfect! :0) waiting for the fountain show to start outside the Bellagio:

I’m excited to share more about the speakers I heard and the fun new products I found to offer coming up later this week! Happy Monday!
