This past Saturday I was wedding-less, which doesn’t often happen this time of year, and it just so happened that Lauren had her first soccer game of the season. Both her parents had to be in other places with her siblings, so I got to take her and cheer on her team, the “Killer Ducks” (a name that the girls picked on their own.. clearly.) She got to play goalie for the first time, and I could not have been prouder of my girl as she stopped every single shot that came her way:
After the first half she was more than happy to let someone else play goalie, after all, how was she supposed to score any goals of her own if she had to stay at the opposite end of the field?? ;0)
After the game we picked up Sammy and spent the rest of the day on the playground, playing putt-putt, doing crafts, and wrapped the day up with popcorn, pajamas, and their first viewing of The Lion King (a momentous occasion, if you ask me). Needless to say, it was a pretty great Saturday :0)
