Jason and Shannon- River Creek Club Wedding

“Marry your best friend. I do not say that lightly. Really, truly, find the strongest, happiest friendship in the person you fall in love with. Someone who speaks highly of you. Someone you can laugh with. The kind of laugh that makes your belly ache, and your nose snort. The embarrassing, earnest, healing kind of laughs. Wit is important. Life is too short not to love someone who lets you be a fool with them. Make sure they are somebody who lets you cry too. Despair will come. Find someone that wants to be there with you through those times. Most importantly, marry the one that makes passion, love, and madness combine and course through you. A love that will never dilute, even when the waters get deep and dark.”
We Seek Joy

How amazing are Jason and Shannon’s rings?!Shannon was truly one of the most calm and collected brides I’d ever seen. There wasn’t an ounce of anxiety coming from her, she was so steady all day long. Just another way you could tell that she and Jason were more than ready for this day and to fully embrace this next chapter in their lives. Jonathan’s view on the left, mine on the right:Shannon did a little “first look” of sorts with her sweet Dad. I love the look on his face as he watched her come down the steps:Jonathan’s view:and we’re off to the ceremony! Jason had this exact look on his face all day long, as you will see in all of the images that follow :) He was ecstatic to be marrying the love of his life and everyone could tell!there may or may not have been a few tears (on both of their parts!) right before this moment :)Every wedding venue should come with a weeping willow tree… please and thank you :)these next two photos are both Jonathan’s! I absolutely LOVE this first black and white image and how happy and content Shannon looks:one of my favorites from their day!love the emotion you can feel in this photo Jonathan took as her dad was walking her down the aisle:married!!!Yes, that would be me kneeling down behind Shannon helping her friends fix the bustle of her gown ;) Over the years with all of these weddings I’ve added knowing how to pin boutonnieres, fit veils, and bustle dresses to my list of life skills ;) It might have taken three of us to successfully get her bustle just right, but we succeeded in the end! go team! ;)
then we snuck outside for the last couple minutes of the sunset to take advantage of that pretty glowy light :) their reception decor came together so beautifully:first dance:Their best man and matron of honor gave some of the sweetest, most well thought out toasts I’ve heard:then it was party time!ha! i love this little series of four photos :) Again, can we please note how calm and steady Shannon is while stuffing that cake in his face?! ;) …. he dropped a little piece of cake, but don’t worry, he got it in the end ;)
Shannon has the best relationship with her two brothers, and I love that they fit in a special dance just for them:Right before we left they did an anniversary dance, and I was amazed and humbled by how LONG the dance took, because SO many  of their guests had been married for such a long time! I sat there and thought what a blessing it must be for Jason and Shannon to have so many examples of marriages that have lasted 30+ years surrounding them.
These three couples were the last out on the dance floor, I think each one being married over 50 years!Thank you both so much for trusting us with your day and for letting us celebrate with you! :) I hope you have the BEST time in Aruba!!
