The Whitlow Family – Ashburn VA Maternity Photographer

I mentioned back in November the last time the Whitlow family was on the blog that you just might be seeing them again in a few months, and here they are! As Josh and Crystal are getting close to having baby #2 we wanted to do some ’embrace the belly’ photos of Crystal, and get some pictures of Lucy to celebrate her second birthday! Goodness they have quite a lot happening this month! :) I have had people in the past tell me how they put off having family pictures done, especially if they know the family pictures will be “outdated” (aka they are adding to their family) soon. I think that is almost all the more reason to do portraits; to capture that time with your family before it changes drastically. I think there is something precious about these images of Josh, Crystal, and Lucy as a family of three for the last time. Don’t get me wrong I think updated pictures once your family grows are necessary too (really, when are photos NOT necessary?! ;) ) but I’m really glad we were able to do a few more photos before the baby gets here!

So this was a double session, first up was miss Lucy’s 2nd birthday photos, and then we spend the remainder of the time focusing on Crystal’s maternity portraits! Happy viewing, friends!

confetti everywhere!! we tried to show Lucy how to hold it in her hands and blow it back at us… i don’t think she *quite* got the hang of it yet ;) accessories are this girls best friend! :)
this is Lucy’s “okay lady, can i just go back and play with my dress up clothes now?!” face :) still love it though! We wanted to make the session extra fun for Lucy, and she recently switched over to a “big girl bedroom”, so we filled her entire room full of balloons and surprised her with it! To say she LOVED it would be an understatement, I’ve never seen her so excited!! :) This was when she first walked in and saw the balloons everywhere: Then while Lucy played in her room, we took some ’embrace the belly’ shots of Crystal! Isn’t she beautiful!? This was the first time I’ve done a maternity session in my clients home, and I have to say I’m really loving how they turned out! I love the soft, feminine, intimate feel to all of these! just like her mama! one of my new favorite ’embrace the belly’ shots of all time! love the silhouette!
