Clay and Jessica: Part 1 – Biltmore Estate Wedding Photographer

As I was editing my favorites for the blog, I realized after their portraits I already had 40 images to go on the blog, and I hadn’t even gotten to the ceremony or reception yet! I figured I should just go ahead and call it “part 1” and share the first half of the gorgeous day I had the privilege of photographing this past Saturday (which is why this post is going up much later in the day than usual!) This very well might be the most highly anticipated blog post I’ve put up all year, I’ve had people telling me for MONTHS now that they can’t wait to see these pictures! Even people that don’t always check my blog have been waiting for these!  There are always nerves walking into a wedding, but boy oh boy let me tell you, the pressure was SERIOUSLY on for these photos! First and foremost, Jessica is a dear friend from college and I wanted her to have absolutely STUNNING images! She and Clay deserve it, and out of all the photographers in the world they picked me to photograph their wedding, these pictures had to be AMAZING for them! Second, their wedding was held at the famous Biltmore Estate in Asheville NC, which is every photographers DREAM location! and not only was it the Biltmore, it was the Biltmore at Christmas! yeah… the pressure was definitely on!

In true Jessica fashion, everything was so perfectly thought out that there wasn’t even one small hiccup in their day. They were given an absolutely stunning 70 degree day, and we were able to take full advantage of it! Their ceremony and reception were held in the Lioncrest building, and surrounded by their favorite people in the world and thousands of Christmas lights, they stood before God and each other and promised forever. It was perfect. Literally flawless. I couldn’t imagine a better day for a more deserving couple!

Get excited, this is just Part 1!! Make sure you check back for part 2 coming soon! :)

Yes, I’d say this backdrop will do juuuust fine… I’m pretty sure its guaranteed to be a good day when you’re walking around in a pair of red high heels… Jess looked like she walked straight out of a bridal magazine with this gorgeous headband in place of a traditional veil: umm okay. her ring is to DIE for! it suits her so perfectly.. Clay, good job my friend. instead of a bouquet, her bridesmaids carried candles during the ceremony! love it! a few finishing touches: and a little ‘something blue’ from her father: Jess and Clay opted for a first look and I’m SO thankful they did! Especially if you are getting married in the winter months when it is dark by 4:30, doing a ‘first look’ is the BEST way to guarantee that you get portraits you love with plenty of natural light! Not only was the light perfect, but we had a solid hour and a half to walk around this huge property for all of their portraits! We weren’t rushed, and they were able to have portraits taken in so many different spots around the grounds. We did their first look around the Deerpark Restaurant courtyard and it ended up being the perfect little private spot! then we headed over to the main house for the rest of their portraits! Even though we had plenty of time, I’m pretty sure I could have kept the two of them there for portraits for HOURS and never run out of great spots! The property truly is absolutely stunning, and these two just make it look that much better! love the architecture here! these are two of my faaavorites: Jessica. for the love of goodness. you look SO DANG GOOD my friend :) It didn’t take long for me to push gently nudge the crowd  out of this corner so we could have the view of the back of the house :)
Get excited for part 2!! :) Happy Wednesday!
