There’s something uniquely sweet about photographing a brand new baby in the space that was designed for them. It doesn’t always work out to do so for several reasons, with natural light in the room being one of the biggest factors, but when we can, it always results in magic! I loved how bright and simple Kit’s room was, and it made for the perfect backdrop for her first portraits.

I’ve waited a long time to meet you, sweet boy! I had the joy of first meeting R+D so many years ago when I got to photograph their beautiful Shadow Creek Wedding, and since then I’ve had them in front of my camera every fall for updated portraits together, so this one was extra special for me getting to photograph them as a family of THREE!

Is there anything better than peak fall colors here on the east coast? The end of October was really showing off for these two and gave them gorgeous weather and even better color for their wedding day at Shadow Creek!

Get ready to see a LOT of this girl on this site, I am so excited to introduce you to my most precious neiece Evelyn. Our Evie girl has been the biggest ray of sunshine for our family, and has (literally) all of us wrapped around her tiny finger. She’s an expert at blowing bubbles and thinks her toes are just the coolest. We’re all pretty smitten with our girl, and she’s growing WAY too fast for her Aunt Jessie’s liking. We get to have a date every Wednesday, and so far at least, she tolerates me pulling out the camera like a pro :)

Seeing these kids that I’ve come to adore have the ‘best day ever’ time and time again will just never get old. It doesn’t matter if they see the castle once a year, once a month, or once a decade, it’s special and wonderful and full of magic every single time! We had a perfect September morning together, complete with breakfast with some special pals at the very end!
