“At any rate, that is happiness; to be dissolved into something complete and great.” – Willa Cather These early mornings at the DC National Cathedral and Bishops Garden for engagement sessions have quickly become a favorite for so many reasons! I love when a location offers such a wide variety of background options, and when […]

There will always be a place you belong

Those chunky cheeks and tiny teeth and baby blues! Just can’t get enough! Happy 1st birthday to this little lady!

“The year is a book, isn’t it, Marilla? Spring’s pages are written in Mayflowers and violets, summer’s in roses, autumn’s in red maple leaves, and winter in holly and evergreen.” – L.M. Montgomery

If the year is a book, each chapter in NYC is better than the next! Autumn in NYC just might be the dreamiest of all. We lucked out with a perfect sunrise session: unusually warm weather, no one else around, and the peak of fall colors in Central Park! I’m so thankful for Ash and Andrew agreeing to get up early with me to make this session happen, and to make it as wonderful as it was! NYC inspires creativity in such a unique way, and I’m always excited for any opportunity I have to bring my camera to this special city! Enjoy WAY too many favorites from our morning roaming around Bethesda Fountain, the Bow Bridge, and parts of Central Park!

“You’re mad, bonkers, off your head! But i’ll tell you a secret: all the best people are.”
– Alice in Wonderland

Even though we branched out into Epcot this year as you saw in my last post, we still wanted to make sure to get a few at Magic Kingdom as well since it’s so special for their family. I love that so many of their favorite memories as a family have happened right here, and that they have portraits in their happy place to document it!

While December might be my favorite month at MK, I love seeing all the fall decor they put along Main Street!

My sweet friend has been swooning over those Cinderella pumpkins since they debuted last year, so we had to fit one into their session this year too!

See that middle window right above Isabella’s head? That’s the exact spot where these two got engaged years earlier!

Want to see time fly right before your eyes?! The image on the left was from my first session with them back in 2019! Look at how she barely made it to those gold balls on the railing, and now they’re both towering over them! Still love those tippy toes, still love those babies!

“Ohana means family, family means no one gets left behind or forgotten.”

– Lilo and Stitch

While everyone else ran to the rides, we had almost the entire world showcase ALL to ourselves! Early morning session for the win! It really makes a huge difference, I’d never seen the different pavilions so empty! Since most of the stores and restaurants don’t open until 11, there’s no reason to draw a crowd, so it really felt like we were the only ones there (until we got to France and found the Ratatouille crowd ;) ) but it was totally worth the early morning! Epcot is still my favorite spot on property for sessions, even more so now that I know we can do them during extra magic hours in the morning!

So thankful for these dear friends of mine! Remember them from their last session, and their FIRST session with me?! Feels like forever ago and yesterday all at the same time! Thanks for agreeing to get up early with me for a waltz around the world showcase!

One of my favorites! Pretty sure this means we should just plan a trip to Italy next :)

Didn’t their outfits coordinate perfectly?! His overalls are from amazon, and her dress is from Sweet Honey Clothing! Swoon!

The perfect twirl dress!

Another one of my favorite pavilions is Morocco, love the color and architecture you find here! And the fact that once again, we had it literally all to ourselves!

“ When over the years someone has seen you at your worst, and knows you with all your strengths and flaws, yet commits him or herself to you wholly, it is a consummate experience. To be loved but not known is comforting but superficial. To be known and not loved is our greatest fear. But to be fully known and truly loved is, well, a lot like being loved by God. It is what we need more than anything. It liberates us from pretense, humbles us out of our self-righteousness, and fortifies us for any difficulty life can throw at us.” – Tim Keller

These two celebrated 10 years of marriage by leaving their 5 beautiful babies at home for the week and escaping into the magic of WDW, just the two of them! I love that they wanted to celebrate with an anniversary portrait session. It always makes my day when couples choose to document each season together, instead of just the first. I’m a pretty firm believer that each year, each season you walk through together, is so very worth documenting and celebrating. Cheers to you both! Thank you for letting me celebrate with you!

Look at all those raindrops on the ground in the image on the right… bet you’ll never guess what happened about 30 seconds after this photo was taken ;)  Welcome to Disney during the summer months!
