Thankful

Happy Thanksgiving! I am currently feeling sufficiently stuffed and way overly blessed..

We had a table full of some of my favorite food (sweet potatoes are my absolute favorite!) and I couldn’t help but think how ridiculous it is how much we have and take for granted here, especially in this area of Virginia. We were talking about Heifer International, and what a cool ministry it is, sending animals to places where they are desperately needed and helps them be a little more self-reliant. It was crazy to me how much we had sitting right in front of us when there are places that are desperate just to have a cow so they can have milk on a daily basis. It’s crazy how easily I forget about places like that and get so wrapped up in my own issues. A few verses that I’ve really been trying to keep in the front of my mind comes out of 1 Thesalonians 5: 16-18.. “Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” Thats how I need to live. To be joyful always. Because in all circumstances God is still in control and His perfect will is still being accomplished, and that, my friends, is worth being joyful about. It is God’s will and desire for us to be joyful and to be talking to Him continually. We have so much to be thankful for… here’s what’s off the top of my head:

*my Jesus who relentlessly pursues me, passionately loves me, and died so He could be with me..

*my family who provides for me way more than I will ever deserve

*my freshman year crew, you all know who you are. you guys mean the world to me; thanks for the encouragement, prayers, and the fellowship that still continues years later.

*all my former YoungLife teammates who have undoubtedly seen the worst in me, stood beside me as we walked through the halls of a battlefield, and challenged me to grow in ways only true brothers and sisters could.. thank you, thank you, thank you for going after our friends at Warwick with your whole hearts.

*the amazing families and couples that invite me into their most precious moments to capture it with my camera. thank you for allowing me into those moments and for allowing me to do what I absolutely love on a daily basis. I know every photographer says this, but I swear I actually really do have the best clients in the world :0)

Hope you all had a great day with your family and friends, and realized just how much you have to be thankful for! Here are some fun pictures from today!

My grandma who made a million pounds of delicious green beans and mashed potatoes today :0)

The baby brother.. this was the only way I could talk him into letting me take his picture :0)

The lovely hostess, my mama!

Molly Dolly! She’s the sweetest pup around!

And this big throw rug is Timber and she’s probably bigger than you.. you think I’m kidding.. :P

Get ready.. in the next 3 days I have at least 5 portrait sessions coming up.. engagement, maternity, and lots of fun kiddo sessions!! I’m pumped! :0) Remember, be joyful always, pray continually, and give thanks in all circumstances, cause thats what God wants our lives!
