I have had October 10th, 2010 blocked off on my calendar for two and a half years. Ever since one of my best friends Michael mentioned jokingly that he could see him and Katelyn getting married on that day because it would be exactly their 8 year dating anniversary, I had a feeling that would be their day, and as anyone in the wedding industry knows your weekends fill up quickly for that time of year! There was no way I was going to miss two of my best friends getting married, so two and a half years ago I put “Michael and KK” on my calendar… juuuust incase.
Last year I had the joy of photographing the proposal, and I think the excitement for Michael and Katelyn and “10.10.10!” started that very day for their family and friends! A marriage 8 years in the making was finally happening!
You can click on the post from the proposal and read the 190289841 paragraphs I wrote about how much I adore the two of them, so I’ll keep this one short and simple. Michael and Katelyn, God was glorified above anything else on your wedding day, and that’s what its all about. Thank you for pointing everyone back to Jesus in the midst of this whole wedding planning process. Thank you for asking me to be a part of your lives and your wedding day! I love you both and I’m so excited to see how God is going to use your marriage to minister to the people around you! :0)
Since they asked me to sing during the wedding ceremony I got to be a part of their whole weekend including the rehearsal dinner! Their families worked SO hard to make it the perfect weekend for everyone, and even all the details at the rehearsal dinner were picture perfect! Katelyn asked me to take a few pictures during the dinner part of the evening and of course i was more than happy to! I loved the centerpieces they put together and how they incorporated their gorgeous pictures that Jasmine took earlier this year! they had a table set up with lots of old pictures of the two of them and fun toys and things from when they were younger! look at those little shoes! (and please don’t miss the ninja turtle in the background either… ;0) ) Michael and Katelyn had the CUTEST ring bearer and flower girl, and it just so happened to be Reed’s 4th birthday the day of their rehearsal dinner! He was so excited when they brought out a cake just for him! Michael and Katelyn had a lot of special people in their lives that helped in so many ways to make this weekend happen so beautifully, and it was so sweet to hear them take the time to genuinely thank each and every one of them! and they had gifts for each other as well! Michael surprised Katelyn with the extra wedding band she fell in love with but was expecting as maybe a 5th anniversary present! And Katelyn got him something he’s been wanting for a long time, that cool globe you see standing next to her! They had it on display at the wedding with a “X” over where they are going on their honeymoon! Since I had some time before the ceremony started I snapped just a few detail shots.. Katelyn, everything turned out PERFECTLY. You can tell how hard you worked on everything! so beautiful! I didn’t take hardly any pictures during the reception, but make sure to check Jasmine’s blog to see all their wedding pictures from the entire day! I think its safe to say that Michael and Katelyn could not have picked two people better to document their day than Jasmine and JD! :0) So great to see you both again! I finally brought my camera out to catch the last dance and their big exit:
see all that stuff flying through the air? i’m pretty sure Michael and Katelyn are going to be finding birdseed in their car for the next year! ;0)
Congratulations again! have SO much fun in Italy!! love you both!
