“love the Lord your God, and love one another. love one another as He loves. love with strength and purpose and passion and no matter what comes against you don’t weaken. stand against darkness, and instead choose love. that’s the way back into Eden.”
– francine riversthis was the kind of day i cherish getting to be a part of. where i walk away at the end of the evening thinking “this is why i’m thankful for what i get to do every day. getting to be involved in days just like this.” the kind of day that is intentional in every aspect, full of joy, and truly focused on the real reason we were there. peyton and megan have been a joy to work from the moment i met them, and even though it was drizzling outside (literally) all day, i didn’t hear either of them mention it once. they weren’t phased in the least by a bit of rain, they were just so thankful this day was finally here, and all of their favorite people to go along with it. i was thrilled to be back at the birkby house here in leesburg for their wedding, and the staff there really went above and beyond to help make sure their vision for the day really came to life.
they even had a special guest of honor show up during portraits… their 10 week old puppy ozzie! you guys, i can’t handle the cuteness. i may or may not have been tempted to try and smuggle him out in my camera bag :) he’s the most adorable little ball of fluff! i’m so glad we were able to take some photos of their little family of 3 on this special day, and capture ozzie’s itty-bitty-ness at this age!
megan and peyton, thank you thank you thank you for being so wonderful, and for trusting me with such an important day. it was an honor to celebrate with you both! xoxo! i also wanted to say a big thank you to my dear, talented friend heidi for 2nd shooting for the day! so many of the photos you see in this post are hers, including these next two of peyton. heidi, you are MORE than welcome to join me any time! thanks for your hard work and gorgeous images! :) they redid the bridal suite at birkby house since i was there last and it’s completely gorgeous! so bright and cheerful! just like these ladies! i’m obsessed with megan’s dress! it suited her so perfectly! megan you are the most stunning bride!! it was drizzling outside all day, but that didn’t put a damper on anything. they came prepared with some fun umbrella’s and a great attitude and we made it happen! their portraits are some of my favorites i’ve done all year! :) i think he was pretty excited to see his girl :) be. still. my. HEART. look at that sweet face! is puppy fever a thing? megan, we might need to find a time for you, me, and ozzie to grab lunch soon so i can get my puppy fix! ;) they had an opportunity to exchange cards, which resulted in happy tears all around :) one of my favorites from the day! loved the pink! just before the ceremony she did a little ‘first look’ with her dad, and you could tell instantly what a special relationship they have. seriously, it’s such an honor to get to witness moments like this all day long: these little ladies were SERIOUS about emptying their basket of flowers, and they weren’t going to their seats until all the petals were gone! … that moment when it’s official and you’re MARRIED! :)
they gave away these adorable little succulent plants as wedding favors! so fun!i couldn’t adore you any more than i already do! thank you both so much for letting me be a small part of your day! xo!
