remember that one time when I went to Rome? and never blogged? yeeeah sorry about that.. it seems like so long ago already! i know i promised you all more pictures in a complete blog post, so here it is! I’ve had to do a lot of catching up on editing from the past six weeks or so, so I apologize for this just now going up! but please enjoy a TON of pictures from our trip! some of them you have seen before, but most of them are brand new! enjoy!
this was the view from the rooftop lounge at our hotel, not too shabby huh? :0) the tour guide had a cool flip book that would show you a picture just like the one below, and then on the next page was a picture of how it actually looked originally.. it was so crazy to see how everything would have looked, and the fact that so many of the original pieces are still standing! chariot races, anyone? we spent an afternoon in Tivoli and it was beautiful! my mom is a landscape designer, so she was in garden heaven here :0) this MIGHT be one of my favorite pictures from the trip :0) love you mama! ;0) we stopped for lunch at Sibilla and it had the most gorgeous view! it overlooked the waterfall and sat right next to the ruins of this temple :0) aaaamazing! My favorite day there was spent in Tuscany (shocker, huh? ;0) ) it was so beautiful! I could have stayed there all week and just done a day or two in Rome instead! Literally everywhere I turned there was something I wanted to take a picture of! does this picture scream “trouble!” to anyone else, or just me? ;0) i still love it though :0) this is one of my favorite pictures from the trip :0) i’m trying to pick one to get a canvas for above my bed.. any suggestions? :0) this one is another favorite! Piazza Navona was filled with little cafes and artists selling paintings, and i can understand why! I loved all the flowers hanging out of the windows! even though i can barely draw stick figures it made me want to paint them all too! guess my camera was the next best thing :0) Our last night there all 11 of us had dinner at this rooftop restaurant and the view was amazing! It had rained a little bit before we got there, but as soon as we got there the rain was gone and this rainbow was waiting for us! I have an online gallery with all 250+ pictures, so if you’d like to see more or would like to order prints of any of these pictures please let me know and I’d be more than happy to send you the link! Happy Saturday! :0)
[…] Last time we were in Italy we spend the majority of the week in Rome, but this time we had to pack everything into the first two days of our trip! Now, there is LOTS to see in Rome- an overwhelming amount even. Add to that the 6 hour time difference and only about 1.5 hours of sleep, and I’m sure we were quite entertaining to watch trying to navigate our way around the city. We managed to fit in all of the big things, the vatican, the colosseum, the trevi fountain, and one of my favorites, piazza novanna, but you’re just sort of in awe of everything every direction you look. Whether its a marble statue that has been standing for 2000 years or the window box full of flowers and ivy growing up the wall, its all incredible, and I’m so glad I had the chance to see it all again! […]
[…] really good about leaving my camera behind when I’m on vacation (unless that vacation is to Italy- then it comes with me EVERYWHERE!) but I knew that this would probably be my only opportunity for […]
