Jacob and Ashley: Part 1 – Virginia Wedding Photographer

Oh my heavens, what a way to kick off my 2011 wedding season! My life is about to kick into high gear with wedding season starting in one week and if Jake and Ashley’s engagement session is any indication of how this year is going to be, then BRING IT ON! :0) I loved every second of my time with them as they showed me around one of their favorite places in Fort Valley and introduced me to Jake’s horse, Otto. I think I could shoot every session at a location like this and never get bored or run out of ideas. Gorgeous scenery, fun bright colors, and two beautiful people willing to share their relationship with me and let me photograph it.

I told Jake and Ashley they win the award for most commitment to the session; even when I asked Ashley to jump on a horse bareback and BACKWARDS, she could have (and probably should have) looked at me like I was crazy, but instead she swung herself around and totally made it work :0) We encountered all kids of furry friends during our time together, including (but not limited to) horses, cows, goats, sheep, cats, dogs, and Larry the donkey who makes a little guest appearance in part 2 of their post ;0)

Jake and Ashley, couples like you are why I LOVE what I get to do every day. Thanks for being genuine with me, laughing with me, and letting me see inside your relationship for a few hours. I am truly so thankful to be your photographer and friend, and I couldn’t be more excited for July! :0)

You know its gonna be good when you see part 1 in the title, cause that means there’s a part 2! Typically I can narrow down my favorites for a blog post to 25 or less, but that just wasn’t going to happen this time around! Also a big thanks to my friend Katie for tagging along and 2nd shooting with me! Keep an eye out for a few of her images in the post too! :0)

love the vibrant color in these first two: meet Otto! Both Jake and Ashley love to ride, so I was excited when Ashley told me there would be horses at the location, and even MORE excited when I learned one of them was Jakes! :0) These next two are both Katie’s! :0) gotta hold on tight! good thing Otto is such a good horse.. he got a few carrots afterwards for putting up with us :0)love this next one, definitely one of my favorites! be prepared, i have lots of favorites in these two posts!
another favorite ;0)
i know these next three are all pretty similar, but I love them all and couldn’t narrow it down anymore! clearly Otto needed a hug too.. he just kept moving closer and closer! :0) Jake proposed to Ashley in that little cabin behind them: another one of Katie’s shots: LOVE this next one of them… even though I was a little bit distracted… by this guy! he walked right up and proceeded to stare at me for a few minutes, apparently convinced I had something for him.. anyone else slightly freaked out by goat’s eyes?!? it must be the rectangle pupils that freak me out so much.. weird!! Katie thanks for grabbing this shot :0)
make sure you check back tomorrow for part 2!! Happy Friday! :0)
