family

When people ask me what my relationship is with these kids I never really know what to say. saying that I used to work for their family doesn’t even BEGIN to do it justice. but saying that they’re “friends” doesn’t cut it either. Paul, Julie, Jen, Josh, Matthew, Lauren, and Sam are nothing less than family at this point. They have welcomed me into their home for the past 7.5 years and even more so than that, shared their children with me. Back when Lauren was only about 6 months old, Paul and Julie had me help them out a few times a week and stay with Lauren so that Julie could spend more quality time with the older children, and four years (plus one Sammy!) later, I graduated college and started this full time photography gig, and at that point I had become a member of their family. If I’m being honest, being closer to them was one of the main reasons I wanted to move back to the area. I hated how much I was missing in the kids lives and how much they had grown every time I saw them. I swear if I could have these kids plus my godkids within 30 minutes of me I’d be the happiest girl in the world! I’m so thankful that now 7.5 years later that I still have a close relationship with each of them and that I get the privilege of being in these kids lives. They’re pretty darn awesome, if you couldn’t already tell :)

Anyway, its been literally 5 years since I have had all five kids in front of my camera at the same time (crazy, right?!?) and I was not about to waste the opportunity! Thankfully all the stars aligned and I was able to grab about 10 minutes of their time when EVERYONE was home one evening when I was staying with them last week and I snapped as many pictures as I could. Josh is getting ready to leave for college (if I don’t kidnap him and lock him in one of my extra bedrooms first.. i’m in denial he’s leaving me :( ) and it very well might another 5 years before I get them all in front of my camera again, so needless to say a few of these photos are already up in frames around my house. This family is by far one of the biggest blessings in my life and I’m so thankful for each one of them and the love, support, laughter, and prayers they send my way on a daily basis.

So I’m THRILLED to (re)introduce you to Jen, Joshua, Matthew, Lauren, Sammy, and the newest addition: Chester the pup! :) staring things off right with my favorite photo of them all: Chester couldn’t let Sammy hang there for long without seeing what was going on! :)
LOVE that one on the left of Chester’s squishy face! ah so cute! and I’ll end with my other favorite :)
Love you guys! Happy Friday! :)
