One of the first questions I always ask new portrait clients is what they like to do together as a family. What are their kids into at this particular age that they might not be a year from now. THOSE are the things and moments I love photographing, because I know they will mean something more than just a photo where everyone is smiling at the camera. When I showed up to meet Brooks for the first time, he was all smiles because we filled our time with all of his favorite things… front porch swings, lots of books, and a little walk to see the horses that live two doors down. Amy explained that visiting the horses is their favorite thing to do together and happens at least once a day, and she always wanted to remember how excited Brooks would get to go see them. Perfect! We had a gorgeous fall afternoon for our session, and I’m so excited about the results! Happy viewing, friends! LOVE this next one: their pups Lola and Red joined us for a few minutes for a complete family picture… then it was off to see the horses! love the excitement in his face as they started walking towards him! I bet he would have wrapped his arms around this horse if he could have!
once his cheeks got nice and rosy and the temperature started to drop we headed back to the house to read some of his favorite books: Brooks has his own pony at home, but I bet he’s out there riding the real horses down the street before you know it! then he was ready to go brave the cold for round two and a few last pictures outside:
Happy Tuesday!
