“People tell you a lot about how much parenting will change your life and they’re right. But usually they mean that you won’t ever sleep in again (you won’t) and a few other things about how much we “give up” to become parents. No one tells you how much you’re going to laugh. No one tells you how much wisdom resides in these small humans, how much they will teach you about love and life and friendship and forgiveness and worship. No one tells you how good and freeing it is to leave your selfishness behind. No one tells you about recapturing your own wonder and innocence, about re-reading the Ramona books, about playing football in the basement, about birthday parties and snow days and every day beauty. All the best things I know about the big nouns and verbs of a life came back into my life because of them.”
– Sarah Bessey this is my third time seeing these sweet, spunky little girls, and I swear each time gets better and better! You can go back HERE for last years session, and HERE for the first time I met them when Ellie was just 5 months old! I’m so thankful that Bethany and Matt really trust me to photograph their girls as they are, in their element, and that they let me take more of a “lifestyle” approach to their session. Those always end up being my very favorite of sessions :) oooh sweet Josie, I couldn’t get enough of this girl!ha! look at her little skirt on the right! too cute :) I think if she could, Josie would spend her days chasing her cats around the house! she wanted no part of family photos if the kitty was anywhere close :)and this girl, she has been cracking me up and making me smile with her expressions right from the first time I met her. She greeted me at the door this time with a big “HI miss jessie!!!!” and a hug and she was READY to play! she is so spunky, creative, and man she loves her baby sister! she told me all about how she’s going to be a nice witch for halloween, and even showed me (in the photos below!) how she flies on her broom :)
I think Ellie has given me this look at LEAST once during each session ;) apparently having your photos taken is hard work for a girl! one of my favorites :) this was during our Frozen sing along, and I love how you can see them kicking their little feet :)I think this only lasted another .5 seconds before Josie jumped up, but man oh man it was so sweet while it lasted! :) …I dont even think the cat saw them coming before they scooped him up!and THEN Josie let us know it was nap time, but thankfully she let me grab this one more shot before we finished :) I know she’s so big these days, but I saw a sweet, tired, sleepy baby on the couch before her nap and needed one more photo before she grew another day older:Thanks again for having me over! Can’t wait to see you all again soon! :)
These are so much fun. Thanks, Jessie!
