“so this is love
so this is what makes life divine.”
– cinderella I remember getting to know Kris and Carly in my living room and having the overwhelming feeling of, “yup. these are my people.” I’m fully convinced that there’s a photographer out there for everyone, and that certain clients click better with some over others. that’s just the nature of a job that is rooted in relationships, and being able to document them in an authentic way. Kris and Carly are the kind of people where I know I’d want to be their friend even if I didn’t end up being their wedding photographer. Even at the wedding, Carly said, “I think I’ve realized that you are I are pretty much exactly the same…” and I think that’s the beautiful thing about this job that I get to do– it brings the most wonderful people into my life where I just know I’m going to be friends with them long after the wedding day is over.
I think Carly and I could sit and chat for days about all things disney, broadway, and our love of the Washington Nationals, but even on a deeper level I think we’d spend the majority of the time talking about our favorite people, the way we love kids and how we’re passionate about what’s shaping their world, and trying to find joy in every piece of our days. I don’t take for granted the fact that I get to work with couples as incredible as these two, and that they trust me with one of the most special days. Every minute of it was beautiful, and I’m already excited for many more opportunities to shoot at stone tower in the future, and for MANY more special occasions to have these two in front of my camera again :)
I hope you two are having the best time in Aruba, and that you get to snuggle with TONS of flamingos!! xoxo!
Kris picked out the MOST PERFECT pair of earrings for Carly to wear!how you know they’re perfect together? they came THIS CLOSE to choosing the exact. same. card. for each other! :) so naturally, we needed to work it into a few detail shots! and check out those custom shoes! so cool! I love this sweet moment that Heidi documented right before the ceremony started! so sweet!clearly a certain little someone forgot to do a nose check before heading down the aisle ;) he had everyone cracking up! thank goodness the rain stopped just as their ceremony ended, and we got to do ALL of their portraits outside!! you won’t believe the view from stone tower winery! as always, J. Morris Flowers did a beautiful job!! I loved all the different textures in Carly’s bouquet!Carly’s one request was some swoopy veil shots, and I was MORE than happy to oblige! I always get so so so excited when I see the bride has a cathedral length veil!! my favorite!! :)
I’m so glad these two decided to do an extended cocktail hour, it gave us more than enough time to get so many fun portraits around the property!! … and even had time to a celebratory class of wine in the middle! cheers!! so many lovely reception details! and how cool are those custom corks for the place cards?! look at that glow! sunset portraits are ALWAYS worth it! :) the image in the bottom right corner is one of my favorites and makes me laugh every time… this was Kris reacting to someone telling him to shove cake in Carly’s face, and the look he gave back said “are you crazy?!? heck no!!” ;) goodness gracious how I adore you!! thank you so much for letting Heidi and I be a small part of your day!
