one of those days…

yesterday was one of those days.

ya know, one of those days where the dishes have piled up, the blackberry wont stop blinking at you, and your to-do list is now longer than your computer screen. one of those days where somehow not only the shampoo bottle, but the conditioner, face wash, AND body wash bottles all end up falling on my toes at the same time in the shower. one of those days where my blog and I end up in a fight that turns into a battle of wits to see who will give in first, and it takes all my willpower not to chuck the computer out the window and bring out the white flag.  one of those days where nothing looks right, and i don’t feel like I have one creative bone in my body to fix it. one of those days where I feel I don’t have time to simply be still and know that He is God. Be still. What a concept.

Thankfully, when its been one of those days I go right back here. Where life is so simple and so, SO much more beautiful:and right here, where these squirmy kids crawled all over me covering me in dirt, and I didn’t care one little bit because it just meant more cuddles, tickles, and laughter: i go right here, where I take every hug and kiss I can, while he still is young enough to dish them out so freely: and i go right here, where I can hear her giggle and watch her pick flowers to put in her hair, because thats what princesses do afterall: I’m so thankful to have these pictures that Jill took last summer of me and Lauren and Sam, because they always put a smile on my face when its just been one of those days.

Today is a new day. The dishes are done, my cell phone is being left in the other room until further notice, and the to do list? well, i’m working on it. My blog and I have called a temporary truce, and thankfully there are people in this world that are far more creative than I am and can help with that! There are some fun changes in the works for this blog and my website and I can’t wait to share them with you when everything is finished! I started a  book this morning called “Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World” that I’m so excited about. One of these days I’ll learn to just sit at Christ’s feet instead of running in a million directions trying to make sure everything around me is in order. One step at a time :0)
