Jake and Ashley: Part 1- Hermitage Hill Farm Wedding Photographer

From the moment I got up on Sunday the weather looked iffy- it was calling for rain, but these days when the weather man says rain in Virginia you know not to actually believe him 100%. I started praying against the rain (as i’m sure everyone else did too!), since I knew Hermitage Hill Farm was going to be such an amazing venue and the bulk of the day (including the ceremony) was scheduled to be outside. Sometimes I think God gives me opportunities to pray just so He can show me how incredible and in control He really is. The rain that came down could not have been timed any better, and cleared up just in time for the ceremony and portraits to still be held outside! Every moment we needed the rain to ease up, it did. Crazy, huh? :0) Ashley and Jake weren’t fazed by anything, much less the weather, and were both so focused on the most important element of the day; receiving the best gift of their lives. From the moment they first saw each other and the anticipation that led up to it, to the last dance and how perfectly happy they both looked, it was a great day from start to finish and I’m so thankful I got to be a part of it!

Now you know its gonna be a good one when you see “Part 1” in the title! Just like with their engagement pictures, I simply couldn’t narrow it down anymore, so stay tuned for part 2 and the slideshow tomorrow!! :0) Jake and Ashley, I hope you have a fabulous time on your honeymoon, and I’m so SO honored to be your photographer and friend!

Let me start by saying that Ashley’s mom MADE her dress!! yes you read that right, this gorgeous gown was hand made by her mother! on top of that, she also made all of the bridesmaids dresses as well! I was beyond impressed by how gorgeous everything turned out: Gorgeous bouquet: everyone was willing to lend a helping hand ;0) loved Ashley’s two necklaces she wore: hoooooly moly, Ash you are STUNNING! waiting to see his favorite girl ;0) I absolutely LOVE when a couple opts for a first look and the emotion that comes with it: love this one on the left :0) also a BIG thank you to my sweet friend Jill for 2nd shooting for the day! Love this one that she grabbed during their first look.. make sure you check Jill’s blog for her view of the day!

lovely ladies: whenever I have a 2nd shooter come with me, I always tell them to try and focus on different things that I’m shooting, and I love this one that Jill grabbed while I was doing pictures of Ash and each of her bridesmaids:
you’d never know that it poured before and after this! :0) such a gorgeous afternoon!! married!! :0)
Happy Friday!! Have a great weekend!

OK…so I’ve been meaning to post a comment for a while now. I just wanted to say that I think this my most favorite wedding that you’ve done, Jessie. You make me want to be friends with Jake and Ashley…as always, you did a phenomenal job. Ashley-you are completely stunning. I LOVE your dress (props to your mom) and every little detail you put into your big day was breathtaking. I’m interested in where you got your necklace?! I wish you both the best!
