On Monday night at our women’s prayer and praise event at church they had us all go around and say a few GOOD things that were happening in our lives; ways that we feel extra blessed or can see the Lord’s goodness. Well, I had shot this session only a handful of hours before that moment, and so it was no surprise that this session and this family jumped to my mind first. Sweet Josephine Kidd Caldwell is a sign of the Lord’s goodness if I’ve ever seen one. She’s perfect. She has two incredible parents (and a fur sister!) who all completely adore her. She’s covered in kisses and prayers by everyone around her and brings such a sweet presence into Charlie and Katie’s home. I don’t take for granted that families let me come into their homes and love on their brand new “little bitties” (as I affectionally call them) so the fact that I got to spend a few hours photographing Charlie and Katie just marvel at and adore baby Josephine is about as good as it gets in my book :) Thank you both so much for sharing her with me for the morning, hope to see the three of you again very soon! :)
Paisley the pup stole the show for the first few minutes.. but don’t worry, we did eventually get around to photographing baby Josie ;) I love the reference to Ruth 1:16 that Katie and Charlie have up in their room: “Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay.” Josephine even gave us a few little smiles!! love catching those :) As I was taking this next picture a poem by Ruth Hulbert Hamilton popped into my head, you can read the whole thing here but this is the last verse:
The cleaning and scrubbing will wait til tomorrow,
For children grow up, as I ‘ve learned to my sollow.
So quiet down, cobwebs. Dust go to sleep
I’m rocking my baby, and babies don’t keep
another sweet little smile :) on behalf of Josephine, thank you to her Aunt Anna for sending over some of Shelby’s old headbands and bows :) Paisley was so good and gentle with Josephine.. hopefully she’ll still have that mindset when Josie is chasing her around the house ;) a favorite for sure :)
Happy Thursday! :)
Love LOVE love them :) Jessie you always do such an amazing job photographing the babies and their parents! Of course this family does make it easy!
